Thin Ham Sandwiches
Boiled ham sliced as thinly as you can manage, between buttered bread with the crusts off. The whole point is the thinness — thick-cut ham turns it into lunch instead of something to hand round.
Ingredients
- cooked ham — 200 g
- bread — 8 slices
- butter, softened — 60 g
- mustard — 1 tsp
Instructions
- Cut the bread into very thin slices, or buy it thin-sliced.
- Butter each slice right to the edges, adding a scrape of mustard if you like.
- Slice the ham as thinly as you possibly can.
- Lay the ham over half the slices, overlapping it rather than piling it up.
- Close the sandwiches and press them gently.
- Trim off the crusts and cut each one into three fingers before serving.
