Three-Fruit Salad
Pineapple, banana and orange layered with a little sugar and left to chill, so the juices draw out and make their own syrup. No dressing, no cooking, nothing to go wrong.
Ingredients
- pineapple — 0.5 pc
- bananas — 2 pcs
- oranges — 3 pcs
- caster sugar — 3 tbsp
Instructions
- Peel the pineapple, cut out the eyes and the hard core, and shred the flesh into pieces with a fork.
- Peel the oranges, removing all the white pith, and slice them lengthwise so you can lift out the tough centre.
- Slice the bananas just before you assemble, so they do not darken.
- Layer the three fruits in a glass bowl, sprinkling each layer lightly with sugar.
- Cover and chill for at least an hour — the sugar draws the juices out into a light syrup.
- Spoon into glasses, giving each one some of the syrup from the bottom of the bowl.
