Lemonade
Sugar and water boiled into a syrup first, so nothing stays gritty at the bottom of the glass. The syrup keeps in the fridge for weeks — dilute a spoonful whenever you want a glass.
Ingredients
- sugar — 200 g
- water — 500 ml
- lemon juice — 80 ml
- ice water — 1 l
Instructions
- Boil the sugar and water together for 12 minutes to make a light syrup.
- Take the pan off the heat and stir in the lemon juice.
- Let the syrup cool completely.
- Strain it into a jug or bottle.
- Dilute with ice water to taste — start with one part syrup to two parts water.
- Serve over ice with a slice of lemon.
